Embarkation card is filled out, most likely by Tucker, including her printed full name “Sophie Tucker (Abuza),” age “39,” occupation “actress,” and address in the UK “Hotel Savoy—London.” Signed at the bottom in black felt tip “Sophie Tucker.” In fine condition, with expected light corner wear from handling and portions of signature lighter than others, though fully legible. Embarkation cards, also known as a departure cards, are used by immigration authorities as a means of passenger identification and record of entry and departure between countries.
